500°F / 260°C Continuous Exposure: Higher Intermittent

MOX 600 Series rectangular and triangular profile silicone rubber self-fusing compression tapes meeting MIL-I-46852 / A-A-59163 and MIL-I-22444 specification are used for a variety of critical electrical wiring and cable splicing and protection jobs.  Especially suited for aviation and marine environments, as well as outdoor weathering environments. This tape is also used to wrap hydraulic connections and to make vibration resistant bumpers and spacers for wiring, cable, hose, pipes and lines. This tape is used to wrap and hold insulation in place on hot air ducts. Makes an in-situ bushing for protecting wiring at the backshell clamp.

These tapes have no adhesive, but sticks to itself (self-fuses or self amalgamating) when stretched and wrapped onto itself.  The tapes starts curing within minutes, and after several hours cannot be unwound or removed without using a sharp knife or blade.  This tape makes a waterproof, weatherproof and air tight protection.

MOX tapes are available in oxide-red and black.  The triangular tape has a guideline stripe in the center which aids in achieving a 50% spiral wrap.  Triangular levelwrap tapes provide a smooth surface on spiral wrapping, preventing the tape wrap area from snagging when pulling a wire or cable through a bundle or over objects or openings.

MOX tapes provide superior electrical insulation with a minimum of 300 volts per mil (.001") of tape thickness at 365°F / 180°C. A 20mil tape therefore provides 6000 volts per wrap of insulation value.

Understanding MOX part numbers:

The second and third digit of a Type I MOX part number is the thickness in mils (thousands). 610 = 0.010" thickness. The number after the dash is the width. 610-.5 = 0.5" wide tape. You can add R or B to indicate Red or Black.

The second and third digit of a Type II MOX part number is the thickness in mils (thousands). 602 = 0.020" thickness. The number after the dash is the width. 610-1 = 1.0" wide tape. You can add R or B to indicate Red or Black.

Supported MOX tapes have a SA or SB prefix, which indicates the elongation limit. SA is 25% and SB is 15%. The 5 digits after the SA/SB indicates the width and thickness. SA01020 would be 25% elongation limit, 1.0" wide and 0.020" thick. Add R or B to indicate Red or Black.

Tape rolls are 12 or 20 yards. Add the length to the part number as -12 or -20.

· Type I tapes are available in 0.5", 0.75", 1.0", 1.25", 1.5" and 2.0" widths. Common thickness are 0.010", 0.015", 0.020", 0.030", 0.040", 0.050", 0.060". Not all combinations of width and thickness are available.

· Type II tapes are available in 1.0, 1.25, 1.5 and 2" width. Common thickness are 0.020", 0.030", 0.040", 0.050", 0.060". Not all combinations of width and thickness are available.

· Supported (sinusoidal weave glass reinforced) tapes are available in 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0" widths. Common thickness are 0.020", 0.030", 0.040", 0.050", 0.060, 0.070"". Not all combinations of width and thickness are available.

MOX tapes have a 12 month shelf life from date of manufacturing.
